Krabi Activities
On your holiday to Krabi there are many activities that you can indulge yourself in: whether you're intesrted in golf, a suba diving and snorkelling, rock climbing, kayaking, fishing or mountain biking, Krabi has it all. And alongside it, there is the stunning scenery which is a richly rewarding, not only in Krabi itself but also its surrounding islands.
For those not quite so adventurous and prefer the laid-back approah, the spas in Krabi, either in the luxury of one of the large hotels, in a tropical garden paradise or at impressive outdoor massage pavilions, which also include beauty treatments and manicures and waxing.
Klong Thom Hot Springs
In the south end of of Krabi, you will find jacuzzis from Klong Thom hot thermal springs, originating in volcanic chambers. The mineral salts in the water helps to ease a back pain, rheumatism and other skin complaints. While you are there, visit the Crystal Pool in Khao Phra Bang Khram Nature Reserve in the forest, which is filled with clear spring water.
Tiger Cave Temple
There are quite a few temples available for visitors to enjoy, the best of which is Tiger Cave Temple. It is a famous meditation centre in the area and set in a forest where you can walk around a nature trail.
Rock Climbing
One of Krabi's most distinguishing features is it limestone rocks, especially in Railay and Ton Saiwhich. These delightful rock outcrops attract climbers, whether novice or experienced. It usually takes a short three-day course for beginners to gain confidence and the effort is rewarded by the spectacular an unparalleled views.
Kayaking
Kayaking is one of the many ways to explore and experience Krabi's dramatic scenery, floating past mangroves and caves on your journey. You'll be able to observe many species of birds, including kingfishers, herons and hornbills; there are monkeys and monitor lizards to be seen on the way too.
Visiting the Krabi's islands
Krabi embraces the islands and archipelagos of the Andaman Sea, most of which are uninhabited and are perfect locations for snorkelling. Longtail boats are available for hire to get you there. But to visit Ko Phi Phi though, you would need to charter a speedboat for the day.
Scuba Diving and Snorkelling
Krabi has over thirty dive sites and many more for snorkelling to experience Krabis' rich marine life. The corals are just simply wonderful, together with the underwater caves. There are a number of PADI-certified dive schools, suitable for all levels. Serious divers will find world-class dive sites at Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.
Elephant and jungle trekking
There are elephant treks in Krabi, usually an hour's ride. Popular jungle treks are in the National Park area of Khao Phanom Bencha, which has an amnazing waterfall at Huay Toh. Mangrove forests can be found along the coast to explore Krabi's amazing flora and fauna.
Fishing tours
Krabi's rivers and the sea are rich in for the fisherman, with trips available in longtail boats, including mackerel, king fish and barracuda.
Krabi's Golf courses
Pakasai Country Club is the golf course in Krabi you should head for, with its hilly terrain, beautiful fairways and undulating greens.
